Free Yourself Stop Smoking & Prevention Program (FYSSPP)
The primary goal of the program is to empower participants to break the habit of smoking and tobacco use in order to reduce morbidity and mortality due to tobacco related diseases. BMHA recognizes that smoking-related illnesses account for over 400,000 deaths each year and more than a quarter of those deaths occur in smokers aged 35-64. One half of all smokers will die of their habit, statistically each cigarette robs a regular smoker of 5.5 minutes of life. BMHA additionally offers free 6 week cessation classes, nicotine patch therapy, and ongoing support groups so that participants become tobacco-free and healthier as a result of program participation.
